Traffic and high housing prices are causing homebuyers in the Bay Area / Silicon Valley to set their sights on other markets, especially Sacramento and Seattle.
The average Bay Area sales price is about $1.25 Million. Most Bay Area buyers are looking to Sacramento, job opportunities in government, health care industry and at nearby UC Davis. The city’s old residential neighborhoods, such as the Fabulous Forties, East Sacramento, Land Park to name a few, plus the growth of its downtown and Sacramento’s proximity to the Sierra foothills, Gold Country, Lake Tahoe and Napa— and one can get a sense of why buyers would be interested in this area of the state.
There are many people living in the Sacramento Region who commute to the Bay Area, Sacramento is seen as a place to live affordably while driving or taking public transportation to Bay Area jobs.
